Sarah Vretas (she/her) is a licensed professional clinical counselor and began practicing in 2021 after
receiving her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capital University. She
has experience working with folks with a variety of presenting concerns including anxiety,
depression, trauma, OCD, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, and gender/sexuality.
She specifically enjoys working with college students, women, folks struggling with anxiety,
survivors of trauma, and folks who identify as LGBTQ+.

Sarah’s therapeutic style is intentionally integrative, meaning she does not pull solely from one
theoretical framework and works collaboratively with each client to create a warm, empowering,
and safe space that allows them to process, explore, and move forward. Overall, she
approaches therapy from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and feminist foundation. She
frequently incorporates techniques from DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal
Family Systems), and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

Sarah believes one of the keys to success in therapy is being able to be seen, heard, and
supported for who you are and who you may hope to become. She approaches each client from
a cultural humility and anti-oppressive lens, meaning that they are the experts on their values and
identities.

Outside of work, you can find Sarah trying out new restaurants or coffee shops, engaging in
intuitive movement (usually running, yoga, kickboxing, or strength training), making candles,
and watching stand-up comedy specials on Netflix.
