Bryan earned his bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Psychology and Addiction Counseling, from Indiana Wesleyan University in December 2000. He began working at the residential treatment facility located inside the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW). While there he facilitated groups alongside other professionals several times daily as well as maintained a caseload of about 18 clients.
After roughly 7 years of that work, he transitioned into a role that managed federal grant funding programs operating within ORW. It was during this time that he began to miss providing direct service to clients. He enrolled in graduate school at the University of Dayton and earned a master’s in Education and Allied Professionals in 2013. Upon graduation, he began private practice and continues to enjoy working with individuals and couples.
Theoretical Orientation: He believes the individual is comprised of four domains: Biological, Psychological, Social and Spiritual. In our search for purpose and meaning, all of these domains must be addressed. He embraces a holistic approach to counseling which views the counselor as a trained professional- but not all-knowing expert. While the client has problems; the client also has solutions. Through a therapeutic alliance, together we can develop a plan that will lead to a more fulfilling life.
