Alissa’s teaching approach to mindful experiences is one that supports looking within oneself with the goal of increasing overall wellbeing on and off the mat. With her soft presence, Alissa leads a nurturing practice that explores specific themes while inviting each student to realize his or her own strengths within a safe supported environment.

Alissa has practiced yoga off and on in addition to other physical activities for the last decade to find balance in her life. She turned to yoga in 2010 with a new and committed focus to heal and rediscover herself. Her curiosity to look deeper within herself and passion led her to the 200-hour teacher-training program at Yoga on High in 2014. She then went on to complete the Sekoia Teacher training in 2015; iRest Level One, Reiki Master Program in 2016 and many more. Alissa completed the yearlong study of Urban Zen Integrative Therapy training in 2017.

She is currently a 500-hour registered yoga teacher. Alissa is also a LISW-S, an independently licensed social worker, who currently offers therapy at Enliven Resource in the historic neighborhood of Victorian Village. Alissa has experience holding space for individuals and families during challenging times. She offers simple practices that encourage a healthy balance between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous systems that will support feeling whole, healthy and complete. She uses mindfulness practices to examine and support our human experiences and weaves opportunities to welcome yourself as you are in each session. She is committed to the accessibility of and sharing of the benefits of mindfulness within the community.
